A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We met some new friends at one of our trips to the museum (Kelly and Three). Kelly knew of a pumpkin patch to take the kids to, so this week we headed over to the patch. After a few wrong turns and u-turns we finally made it. They had hay rides available so we signed up and while we waited we found the animals. Mikayla tried to feed the goats hay. For some reason, they weren't too interested. She fed one a kernel of corn but when it's teeth nibbled her fingers she decided hay was a better idea. Posted by Hello

Three played with the goats for a while but he found the hay stack. Here he is coming out of the hay tunnel. We tried to get both Mikayla and Three but they weren't cooperating and us pregnant moms (Kelly is due Dec 1)were tired of running from one end of the tunnel to the other to get a picture.

They had a lot of fun things to do, from the goats to the chickens, pigs and geese at the pond. They even had "cow" the kids could milk. We didn't get pictures of it all but we'll have to go back this week or next. They also had a ramp and bridge for the goats to walk across. The ramp went pretty high and it was fun to watch the goats go back and forth. Posted by Hello

Time for the hay ride. Mikayla and Three are hamming it up for the camera - excited about this ride. Posted by Hello

We rode around for a while then stopped to pick out a pumkin. They usually let the kids pick the pumpkins off the vines, but this year they didn't get very many pumpkins so they had them shipped in. They gathered lots of pumpkins around bails of hay. Mikayla would find the biggest one she could to pick up. Then she'd carry it to the next bail of hay. Posted by Hello

She'd put the pumpkin by that bail of hay and then find a new one to transport to a new bail of hay and pumpkin pile. Posted by Hello

They finally got their pumpkins - after a lot of running around. Three was hilarious. He'd pick up a pumpkin and carry it, while running full steam, to show his mom. We convinced Mikayla to actually keep one and we loaded back into the truck bed to finish the hay ride. Posted by Hello

A couple of beautiful smiles...

She is ready for church. For some odd reason she has been into wearing all kinds of hats lately (fireman hats and dad's baseball caps included). Posted by Hello

Oh, so cute Posted by Hello

Dora

Mikayla's new favorite thing to do is watch "Dora the Explorer." We caught her watching, singing and dancing along with the show on top of our end table (Ray Charles style).  Posted by Hello

And then she gets down, runs around the table and climbs back on to do it all over again. Posted by Hello

Our first house

The front view of our new little house.  Posted by Hello

We really love the backyard. There's plenty of room to play and of course...plenty of grass to keep us busy mowing. Posted by Hello

Another shot of the backyard. There's a nice little patio and slide/swingset that the previous owners left. Posted by Hello

The inside is in shambles right now. We took everything out of storage so we didn't have to pay for an extra month--and right now, it's all in the living room (along with the fridge and stove from the kitchen). Posted by Hello

The kitchen renovations midstream. The linoleum in the kitchen and carpet in the dining room had to go to make room for the tile. We'll upload another shot after we're done. Posted by Hello
