A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch
We met some new friends at one of our trips to the museum (Kelly and Three). Kelly knew of a pumpkin patch to take the kids to, so this week we headed over to the patch. After a few wrong turns and u-turns we finally made it. They had hay rides available so we signed up and while we waited we found the animals. Mikayla tried to feed the goats hay. For some reason, they weren't too interested. She fed one a kernel of corn but when it's teeth nibbled her fingers she decided hay was a better idea.
Three played with the goats for a while but he found the hay stack. Here he is coming out of the hay tunnel. We tried to get both Mikayla and Three but they weren't cooperating and us pregnant moms (Kelly is due Dec 1)were tired of running from one end of the tunnel to the other to get a picture.
They had a lot of fun things to do, from the goats to the chickens, pigs and geese at the pond. They even had "cow" the kids could milk. We didn't get pictures of it all but we'll have to go back this week or next. They also had a ramp and bridge for the goats to walk across. The ramp went pretty high and it was fun to watch the goats go back and forth.
We rode around for a while then stopped to pick out a pumkin. They usually let the kids pick the pumpkins off the vines, but this year they didn't get very many pumpkins so they had them shipped in. They gathered lots of pumpkins around bails of hay. Mikayla would find the biggest one she could to pick up. Then she'd carry it to the next bail of hay.
